The Direct Care Worker (DCW) Training Course is designed to equip providers with the essential knowledge and practical skills required for high-quality attendant care. This comprehensive course covers a broad range of topics, including ethical and legal responsibilities, cultural competency, nutrition, and effective communication.


A) Online Class + In-Person Skills Test

Online Course (Part 1)

In-Person Written Test and Skills (Part 2)
DCW Level 1 Fundamentals     Time: 2 Hours

DCW Aging/Physical Disabilities     Time: 2 Hours

(Part 1) allows the participant to complete a series of self-paced modules in preparation of the in-person written test and skills. Key topics include ethical and legal considerations, cultural competency, and nutrition and wellness.

(Part 2) is an In-Person written test and skills session. This instructor-led course follows Part 1 and participants will engage in hands-on training to master critical tasks such as proper hand hygiene, safe glove removal, and correct body mechanics for lifting and transferring individuals. By the end of the course, providers will have demonstrated proficiency in these fundamental skills, ensuring they can provide safe and compassionate care.
