Habilitation

Cost: $30

Habilitation is delivered as a virtual live stream class. The class is two hours and your agency will be issued your certificate following successful completion of the course.

The Habilitation Course is designed to support individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) in acquiring new skills that enhance their independence and overall quality of life. This comprehensive course equips providers with the knowledge and tools necessary to effectively contribute to the Individual Support Plan (ISP) process.

Participants will learn to:

  • Understand the key components of the ISP process and how to implement them effectively.
  • Identify and set functional outcomes tailored to the unique needs and goals of each individual.
  • Explore and utilize a variety of activities that promote skill development in areas such as daily living, communication, socialization, and community participation.
  • Address and overcome common barriers to skill acquisition and independence.
  • Apply principles of Social Role Valorization (SRV) to support individuals in achieving valued social roles and greater community inclusion.

By the end of this course, providers will be well-equipped to create supportive, person-centered environments that empower individuals with I/DD to reach their fullest potential.
